PALMS

The ‘Palm’ Series is based on my experiences of painting, fishing, hiking, and camping throughout the luscious Hawaiian Islands throughout the 1970’s. The Hawaiian chain of tropical isolated islands are peaceful, vibrant, and what I would call an oasis. What I try to re-create in the ‘Palms’ series is a very a serene and jewel toned collection of fine art.

This series of my mixed media paintings is designed to instill the feelings of being on a vacation get-away; away from all the hustle and bustle of urban living. What particularly attracts me to palm trees is that they possess a much textured earth tone trunk. Their tops are filled with beautiful leaves of lush colored hues of various shades of green, blues, and yellow. The swaying leaves effortlessly create moving shadows and shade.
